Users can use the “stylR” tab to impose frames, borders and distortion effects on images or head directly to the “editR” tab where they can adjust levels, test filters and effects and even alter curves using the aggregated RGB spectrum or individual colors. Then, if necessary or desired, users can utilize the “textR” to add themed shapes and embellishments or add text to create a truly scrapbook-like feel to their images.

Import/Export:  

As alluded to previously, flauntR’s import and export options are among the best in online image editing programs, offering nearly as many site integrations as Picnik, while also giving users an opportunity to take their finished photos offline on their phones and PDA devices. flauntR also has a built-in store where prints, posters, wall decals, greeting cards and other gifts can be ordered, effectively eliminating the middleman that many sites rely upon.

Ease of Use:  

Despite requiring users to register an account before designing and editing photos, flauntR is user-friendly, straightforward and intuitive nearly to the point of self-explanation in its program organization and edit and design process. The only features that are complicated or, more accurately, less visible are the undo/redo functions, which are located in the history tab of the “Editing Tools” drop-down menu. Perhaps later program versions could address this.

Help/Support:  

Regardless of its well-contained undo/redo function, flauntR has one of the most impressive, standard-setting help-sections available. In addition to a topically-organized, in-depth FAQ section, flauntR offers a site anatomy that highlights different program tabs and menus and explains their function and potential uses. This is one function that all sites, online photo editing or not, should emulate.

Though arguments could be made about the quality of the finished product, flauntR remains at the forefront of online image editing programs, combining fun with functional, personal with professional and doing so with current trends and future directions, both on and offline, in mind.
